Homemade Halloween Costumes

Happy Halloween!!!!!

For your viewing pleasure on this fine Halloween, I am sharing with you some of my costumes-of-the-past. Which is your favorite??

Lets start with this years costume, Where’s Waldo. This creatively cool costume IS homemade, but not by me. Giving all the credit to fellow Halloween enthusiasts… The Piots! Thanks again guys!!!!

Moving on to last year… here are Jim and I’s Double Dare costumes. These costumes took first place in the costume contest!! It was so fun to be a Double Dare contestant. This was probably my favorite Halloween costume of all time, my homemade Rainbow Brite and Twink costume. I don’t mean to brag but this was a costume contest winner too! I think this was my favorite because of my sweet little sidekick. Isn’t she the most adorable Sprite you’ve ever seen????
Though this next costume was a quick, last-minute-I-don’t-have-a-costume throw together, I think it’s pretty clever. One I’m sure you’ve probably never seen before. I call it “Upside Down Girl”. Obviously! What else would I call it??
HAHAHA…. this picture cracks me up EVERY TIME! This was pretty hysterical. A few years back Jim and I went as Yip Yips. You do know who the Yip Yips are, don’t you?? I was surprised how many at the party that year had no idea who we were. How wild we must look to those who aren’t familiar with the Yips!
A little Yip Yip lesson for those of you who need it…

The Yip Yips are some of my favorite characters from Sesame Street. They originally came from Mars and in there skits they would be perplexed by common earthly objects (like the telephone below, which is one of the greatest Yip Yip skits ever!) I can hear them now…. “Yip-yip-yip-yip… Uh-huh. Uh-huh”!
