NovemberSpecial600

It’s that moment at 3AM when you have hot glue everywhere and at least 26 favors to go and you start praying the photographer at least gets one image of this crazy “little” project turned story I’ll be telling my kids one day.

I have decided to officially take on weddings.  And as you could guess, I will definitely capture all of those “little” projects!

When I first took my business full time back in April I decided that I only wanted to focus on portraits and to date I have been pretty successful at staying focused and only taking sessions that were aligned with my business goals.

Back in April, my decision to not capture weddings was not taken lightly, I love weddings. I really LOVE IT!! I love brides and planning and invitations and table settings and bridesmaids and favors and table cards and clever typography and wedding cake and pretty much anything wedding. I have been in a total of 10 weddings and I love, LOVE! I have been reading wedding blogs for years and am a former Ireland Destination Bride myself. My Ireland wedding was a dream come true followed up with a home reception that happen in March of 2013. For the 2 years I spent planning it I was in wedding planning bliss. Pinning, Crafting, Dreaming, Planning and on and on and on. All brides can relate. It was a great time in my life that I will always cherish.

I am a total junkie BUT after my wedding I was a little “strung out” on weddings. I had only watched 399 episodes of Say Yes to the Dress before I actually said yes to my husband. I had 100’s of pins over at Pinterest and more cake cutters and wedding frames then I knew what to do with. I think I had a wedding hangover. Before my decision to only capture portraits I captured about 7 weddings and truly loved each and every one but I wanted to focus and really get this business running.

So then it happened…. I booked 2 weddings this past summer and was a second shooter for another 3. Honestly I needed the income and like an addict with a bad habit I was back! I started stalking wedding blogs again, Say Yes to the Dress found its way back into my DVR and I realized I just love it. I love weddings and getting to spend the day with the bride. I love capturing the love between the bride and groom, I often sob during the wedding vows and I love being around all of the happiness that comes from the celebration of a wedding. I love capturing all the little details and decisions the couple made so that it will be forever documented. I love capturing amazing portraits and creating albums that I know will be looked at for years to come. I could go on forever.

All that to say…. Appletini Photography is officially capturing weddings and I could not be more excited. My goal for 2014 is 12! That’s over 300 hours of wedding work next year which makes me happy dance! 😉

Below is a few images from a wedding I captured in September with Alicia Barrett Photography.  It was a beautiful day with amazing people, to say love was in the air would be an under statement.   This bride was one of the sweetest girl I have ever meet, her husband, family and friends were just so much fun!!  As I was leaving her wedding 9 hours later the decision had been made!  I am meant to do this! …I love this shit 😉 (pardon my french)  Enjoy!
