You know those little lines only you and your closest friends understand? My girls and I have a lot of those. “Tiff love the kids” My bestie and I have been saying that one for years in this low funny voice, all as one word tifflovethekids…hahahahah and its true I really do love the kids I am a magnet for most kids, at parties with kids and adults, you can usually find me sitting with the kids – the conversation is amazing! 😉 As I started writing this post my first thought was where did that come from? Did we make that one up? Was that a song from the club?!? I am laughing and slightly embarrassed to report it took a little googling but the original lyric was a lovely little number from Trick Daddy (sorry Mom). Hahahaha, oh 2006 me. Trick actually loved da kids first. 😉
Anywho, this week on Facebook I am celebrating LOVE! Things I love, people I love, love I share, love I love, love I give and love I receive! Yesterday I was reading this brilliant business exercise from Danielle LaPorte and they started asking about “my hedgehog” (http://www.daniellelaporte.com/create-declaration-clarity-business-career-heartbeats-lil-empire/)
…from her post
What’s your Hedgehog? This is comprised of three questions: What are you most passionate about? How do you make your money? What can you be the best in the world at?
For me, that was a loaded question. I mean I make money from photography, that was an easy one but the other two stopped me dead in my tracks. I am passionate about a million things and honestly I think that I can be the best at a lot of things. And I say that in the sweetest, I like working hard to be the best kind of way. As I worked through the exercise kids, specifically photographing kids was always the best on the list. I enjoy capturing lots of forms of love but children hold a special place. It was my first answer and I think for the most part I’m pretty sure being a famous back-up dancer for Jennifer Lopez might not work out.
I LOVE kids. Simple, sweet, innocents. My favorite kind of kids are the ones with the big imaginations, you can just see it in their face. They have lots of questions, even if they only ask questions with their eyes. Every answer you give you start to see their little wheels cranking a little bit more. Kids are so magical, you just never know with a kid, you could be talking to the next Oprah or the next person to go the moon or heck maybe even the next Doc Mc Stuffins. We were all once just kids with no boundaries and more questions about how things work then we could find the words to ask.
Today I am celebrating my love for kids. Sippy cups up, cheers!
xoxo, Tiff
