Hey Pals!  For the past four years, I’ve used my little corner of the world at Appletini Photography to collect holiday gifts for Fostering Hope Philly-NE. But what you might not know is that my involvement with Fostering Hope goes well beyond our annual November collection.  I’m also the Fundraising Coordinator for Fostering Hope Philly-NE and an active volunteer in our Philly-NE foster closet, where I get to see firsthand the needs of the children and families we serve.

I see the requests come in. I see our volunteers working hard to fill them. I see how quickly our shelves can go from fully stocked to nearly empty. And I know just how much these everyday essentials matter to the families who rely on us.  That’s also why this collection looks a little different every year. I’m not guessing what our kids need or choosing something that sounds good for a holiday fundraiser. I’m working alongside the people who serve these families every day, and we’re collecting the things they actually need.

And this year, that’s gift cards and personal-care essentials for our teens.

One of my favorite things about owning a small business in Bucks County is having a community of people who show up when I ask them to. You’ve done it for three years, and I’m hoping you’ll join me for a fourth.

Because sometimes doing something good starts with something as simple as a $15 donation, a $25 gift card, or sharing a post with a friend.

60 Teens. One Merry Mission.

Let’s make year four something special, Pals!

The Teen Holiday Project

Fostering Hope Philly-NE is preparing to serve approximately 120 children this Christmas, and 60 of them are teens.

When we think about holiday giving, it’s easy to picture toys under the tree for little kids. But teenagers deserve a little Christmas magic, too!

And let’s be real, shopping for teenagers isn’t always easy. They have their own styles, favorite stores, personal-care routines, and very specific opinions about what they like. (If you have a teenager at home, you KNOW.)

So this year, our mission is to give teens something they actually need AND something they actually want.

We’re collecting donations to provide each teen with $50 in gift cards to stores they love and a thoughtfully assembled hygiene kit filled with personal-care essentials selected with teens in mind. Gift cards are collected in $25 increments, giving teens the opportunity to choose where they’d like to shop.

A Little Choice. A Little Confidence. A Lot of Love.

$25 | Gift a Teen a Gift Card

Your $25 donation will help us purchase a variety of gift cards from popular retailers like Target, Walmart, and Amazon, giving teens the opportunity to choose a gift card that best fits their interests and wishes.

Because part of the magic of giving is letting them choose something they truly want!

$15 | Gift a Teen a Hygiene Kit

Your $15 donation will help us stock a personal-care station where teens can choose from everyday essentials like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, face wash, and other products that fit their individual needs and preferences, including their hair and skin types.

Because every teen deserves to feel fresh, confident, and cared for!

These might seem like everyday items to us, but having access to products that work for your hair, skin, and personal preferences can make a meaningful difference.

And when we put the two together, we’re giving something that’s both practical and personal.

Our Goal: $2,000 for Local Teens

We’re hoping to raise $2,000 through our Zeffy fundraiser to help purchase gift cards and hygiene supplies for the teens served by Fostering Hope Philly-NE.

All donations are collected directly through Fostering Hope’s Zeffy fundraiser, so the funds go straight to the organization. At the close of the collection, we’ll use those donations to purchase the gift cards and personal-care products needed.  You can contribute $15, $25, or any amount that feels right for you. Every donation helps us get a little closer to our goal.

Rather Shop Than Donate?

I get it! Sometimes it’s more fun to fill a shopping cart than make a donation.

I’ve also put together a wishlist of personal-care essentials that our foster closet needs most. You can shop directly from the list, and your purchases will help us stock our shelves with products our teens can choose for themselves.

Whether you donate $15, contribute toward gift cards, or send a few essentials our way, you’re helping us make the holidays a little brighter for the teens we serve. And I’m so grateful for every bit of support!

One of my favorite things about owning a small business in Bucks County is the opportunity to use this little corner of the world to do some good.  Photography is about preserving the people and moments that matter. But Appletini has always been about people first, and this annual collection is one of the ways I get to put that belief into action.

Whether you’ve donated every year, shared our posts, or are hearing about Fostering Hope for the very first time, I hope you’ll consider being part of this year’s mission.
