There’s a point in pregnancy where excitement quietly turns into questions.
You’ve picked out a name, maybe started a registry, washed tiny clothes, and suddenly you realize there are parts of this you’ve never done before. Especially the early days.
One of the questions I hear the most is about newborn photos. Not because parents don’t want them, but because they can’t picture how it works with a brand new baby.
What if the baby cries?
What if we’re exhausted?
When do we even leave the house?
And honestly, those are good questions.
Newborn sessions are very different from family portraits. You’re healing. You’re learning your baby. Life is running on very little sleep and a lot of emotion. The idea of planning anything during that time can feel overwhelming.
That’s exactly why I created this morning.
On Saturday, March 28th, I’m opening the studio for a relaxed open house called Before Baby Arrives here in Yardley, inside Blank Space Community Center. It’s simply a chance for expecting parents to come in, meet me, and see how a newborn session actually works long before your baby is here.
You’ll walk through the studio, and I’ll show you everything step by step. Where baby is placed, how they’re supported, how we pause for feeding breaks, and how flexible scheduling works around real life and unpredictable due dates. Nothing staged, nothing rushed, just an honest look at what the experience feels like.
You can ask anything. Truly.
I also include a complimentary maternity portrait during your visit. It’s a small way to acknowledge this waiting season because it moves faster than you expect, and very few parents end up with photos of themselves during it.

The biggest worry parents share with me is that a newborn session will feel stressful.
It shouldn’t.
The entire session is slow and baby-led. If your baby needs to eat, we pause. If they need to be held, we stop. You don’t need to bring a perfectly sleepy baby or know what you’re doing yet.
You just need to show up.
This isn’t a sales event. It’s really a comfort event.
You’ll meet the person who would be caring for and photographing your baby and decide if it feels like the right fit. If it does, you can reserve your due date that day. If it doesn’t, you’ll still leave with helpful information and a portrait from this moment in your life.
