We had an absolute dream wedding it was more than I could have asked for and everything was just perfect. All of my months of planning and preparation had come together in this beautiful ceremony. I am not exactly sure why I wanted to get married in Ireland but we talked about it one day, agreed that it was a brilliant idea and went for it. I would not have changed a single detail of my Ireland destination wedding. Want to see the Ireland passport wedding invitation that started it all?
All of my Wifey’s out there know planning a wedding is seriously no joke. Trust me – planning a destination Ireland wedding is really no joke. It was months of emails, choices, laughs, saving, spreadsheets, skypes, glasses of wine, shopping, crafting and then it was there and gone in just 24 hours. I LOVED my day, it truly was so special and David and I were so blessed to be surrounded with 29 of the most amazing people we could have ever asked to be there. Words cannot express how much love was in the air that day!
If you have been following Ireland Part One, Ireland Part Two and Ireland Part Tree the coach just landed in Galway where we ended and married. We chose to get married on the last day of the trip, it was like the grand finale of the best week ever. Galway is a quaint little town with deep history. The streets are tiny with lots of twists and turns and buzzing with nightlight and Irish culture. We were married in a little chapel at Ross Castle. The castle is located just outside of Galway and it was the perfect distance for the coach to drop the lads and come back for the lassies. Then we had our reception at Martine’s Restaurant and danced the streets of Galway till the pubs were closed.
My Irish Wedding Vendors
Annie Bryne with Aislinn Events – seriously the most amazing wedding planner in Ireland. If you are getting married in Ireland you need Annie! Annie was so incredible to work with she knows tons of vendors in Ireland and was beyond helpful with our planning choices. She emailed back and forth with us for over 2 years making the whole process of planning an Ireland destination wedding very comfortable. She actually met us in Cork to pick up my dress 2 days before the wedding so it could be pressed. She was with us the entire day of the wedding and made sure every detail was in place. Our table at the reception was beautiful she really took my vision and made it come to life. It was way better than I could have ever imagined, I am not sure how many times I could thank her because she really is the BEST!
Christina Brosnan with Brosnan Photographic – All the photography you see in this post is from my amazing Ireland Wedding Photographer, Christina Brosnan. Naturally photography was the first thing I booked and I booked Christine 3 years in advance. I came across her blog one day while looking for churches and fell in love with her style. I love her photo journalist imagery, classic black and whites and how she captured the love between us.
Dara Molloy, our Celtic Priest – Dara gave one of the most personal and special ceremonies we could have ever asked for. He asked us all of the right questions and put together a ceremony that was so heart felt and special. There was not a dry eye in the chapel. It was a blessing to have him as our priest.
Anne Mahon at The Flower Den – I LOVED my flowers!!! Oh my goodness all of the flowers were so beautiful!!! I was blown away by my flowers in the morning when they arrived then when we arrived at the restaurant and I was blown away again the room was full of beautiful Ireland flowers and the center pieces were perfection!
The Cloud Berry Bakery – the cake was so yummy!
The Powder Room Girls – 5 women did hair and makeup for 18 women in 4 hours…and WE LOOKED GOOD! They really did an amazing job and were so fun!
Ross Castle – where we married. The grounds were stunning and the chapel was perfect. The owner was so kind and we were blessed to celebrate there.
Martine’s Restaurant – This is where we held our reception and it was absolutely perfect. The food was OUTSTANDING and the service was top notch. They really went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. The love of the Irish was felt here, they really took us in as family and made sure we had the best wedding celebration ever.

Let’s get this day started…
I loved my green wedding shoes!!!
My dress was from Klienfeld’s in New York, read about my trip with my girls to get it… HERE
One thing I knew for sure was that I wanted to start the day off with my ladies. When I was younger I was in my cousin’s wedding and she had a big fancy hair and makeup breakfast and I loved it, I knew I wanted the same thing. That morning the ladies and I walked to a little bakery for breakfast then I threw a fabulous hair and makeup party. I wanted evert girl on the trip to get their hair and makeup done. After all they traveled all the way to Ireland to see me be the bride it was the least I could do. It was a BLAST! We had a suite and it was the perfect size for us to get ready. There was makeup flying, jokes a cracking and lots of hair spray.
My Mom sang all the music at our ceremony. It was absolutely beautiful and very special. Thanks Mom, love you!
My grandmother who is departed gave me this perfume was I was very little and I’ve been saving it all of these years to use on my wedding day. It’s the fuzzy chick from Avon.
I love her and I love our laugh 😉
My Dad first seeing me, I think he approved 😉
For my bridesmaid dresses I told the girls to wear a little black dress and pearl jewelry – anything they had and it worked out perfect. They were easy to pack and with this group’s style I knew I had nothing to worry about. We had the men dress in their black suits, we knew every guy has a black suit so it made it easy on our party. We purchased the ties for the groomsmen from Express.
Dave spent the morning smoking cigars with the fellas and then got ready with the help of his Mom, Dad and sister.
Ross Castle, the court yard was stunning!
Here we go, time to get married!
We did a ring blessing. Our priest said a special prayer over the rings and then we passed them around the room for each guest to hold and bless. It was so special to me. I made the ring holder and those are real 4-leaf clovers modge podged on there that were picked by none other than our Heather 😉
My Mom’s music selections were perfect for our wedding day.
Dara called in the 4 elements of the earth to bless our wedding…
We then sealed our marriage with a traditional Irish hand fasting ceremony. It was really beautiful and the tied together of our lives and futures.
Aunt Lana ended it with a traditional Irish Blessing…
I COULDN’T POSSIBLY FIT ALL OF THE FUN IN ONE POST 😉
