If you follow me on instagram you know 2 weeks back I was on a serious week long workcation!  I had the opportunity to go and see one of my inspiration photography mentors Sandy Puc’ who just happened to be giving a workshop in the same town as my dear friend Yennaira!  It was a win-win.  Yennaira naturally was the hostess with the mostess, staying with girlfriends is the best.  We caught up on our stories, cackles and thrift shop find!  Thanks again for having me!

I have followed Sandy Puc’ for about 5 years.  She is not only an extremely successful family portrait photographer but she is also a brilliant business women and teacher.  I have taken online course with her, seen her speak at a few conventions, taken a few convention classes and follow her work and social presence daily.   To say I look up to her would be an understatement.  😉  She is often the voice of reason that I need to help me make business decisions.  She knows what it takes and openly shares what she has learned.

I take a lot of photography education, honestly I love to learn and can’t get enough of it.  Just like with every profession you have to keep sharpening your skills.  You have to find ways to grow and change and adapt and challenge and education is my outlet.  I try to pick one thing per month, either a workshop or book or DVD just something to keep me learning.  When I saw the opportunity to shoot hands-on with Sandy Puc’ I was all in.  This was my first true hands-on workshop I’ve attended where the goal was for the students to really get their feet wet in different lighting situations.  It was an amazing 2 days full of photography, I learned so much that I don’t know where to start to describe it.  I was absolutely the best workshop that I have ever attended.  I can’t wait to see what Sandy’s 2014 tour will be like.

Here are some of the images I captured from the various different session I captured throughout the day…

Working with this girl, Tifani Ahren Davis was clearly my favorite.  She is a stunning model, I love the way she connected with the camera.  There was always 20 camera in front of here but I seemed to connect with her in a lot of images! She is such a natural beauty, she has so much range as a model and was so sweet to work with.AppletiniPhotography_2646 AppletiniPhotography_2647 AppletiniPhotography_2648 AppletiniPhotography_2649 AppletiniPhotography_2650 AppletiniPhotography_2651 AppletiniPhotography_2652 AppletiniPhotography_2672 AppletiniPhotography_2673 AppletiniPhotography_2674 AppletiniPhotography_2675 AppletiniPhotography_2676
