BIG NEWS – BIG NEWS – BIG NEWS
Yesterday following my awesome morning session, I got some BIG NEWS!! I was accepted to be a part of Red Thread Sessions, a group of photographers that donate their time and talent to local families to celebrate their newly adopted child. I am so honored to be a part of this organization and cannot wait to create some photographic memories for these amazing families. Adoption has always been a part of my heart and something that David and I would love to do some day. We look forward to the process when God lets us know we’re ready 😉
Heather and I are very passionate about giving back and this is just one small way that Appletini can give back to our community and we are whole-heartily looking forward to it!
Why “Red Thread” Sessions? The Ancient Chinese Proverb is a commonly-used saying within the adoption community. It symbolizes the bond that all adoptive children have with their adoptive parents, even before they meet. An invisible “red thread” connects them to the people they are destined to meet. Although this Proverb truly relates to all people, it has a particularly strong connection to adoptive families and seemed like the perfect name for this organization.
Do you know someone who is adopting? Through my donation to Red Thread Sessions I would love to offer this family one of my six free yearly session. Red Thread sessions celebrate the newness of your family – the new relationship and blossoming love and all of the emotions that go along with it. We’ll capture images of the new family as well as individual shots of your new child. All session fees are waived and include a set of proofs. These sessions include one of the following:
- Family portrait session within the first 3 months of a finalized adoption to capture family portraits of the new family,
- Homecoming session where the volunteering photographer meets the adoptive family at the airport upon arrival home to capture the first moments with their family
- Birth photography session to capture the birth of the adoptive child in an open adoption.
I am so excited to be a part of this organization and can’t wait for my first family!!! To contact me or learn more, please click below!
