A tour of Lazy Magnolia

A tour of Lazy Magnolia

How Many Beer Can Dave Drink?  Check out Dave’s website for the answer to that question   Dave loves beer and I love drinking beer and taking picture so touring breweries works well for us.  Lazy Magnolia is Mississippi ONLY brewery….I know….shocking.  The owner gave us a personal tour and it was great to see how the beer is made, bottled and consumed.  I loved the bottling part Laverne and Shirley were going to pop out at any minute.  If you ever get a chance to taste Southern Pecan, I highly recommend it.  Check out Dave’s beer review. I think as Mississippi’s only brewery they should be able to make the rules but there is some silly law that bans samples so they sent us over to The Mockingbird Cafe for some tasting.  The cafe was full of character and I love it!

Friendship Oak, 500 year old tree

Sorry for the posting delay…these summer days are keeping me busy A 500 hundred year old tree that survived Katrina, yes please!  This was by far that largest and most glorious tree I have ever seen.  500 years….it’s hard to believe  We found this tree located on the front lawn of the Southern Miss Gulf Park campus in Long Beach, Miss. Friendship Oak Measurements Current measurements show a 50-foot height; diameter of the trunk is 5 feet 9 inches; circumference of the trunk is 18 feet 7 inchees; spread of foliage is 156 feet. The average length of the main lateral limbs is 60-66 feet from the trunk; average circumference of the limbs at the trunk is 7 1/2 feet; the tree forms almost 16,000 feet of shelter; and laterial roots go out 150 feet.   See that abandoned building in the back of the tree, these beautiful flowers were still

A cruise on the Gulf…

A cruise on the Gulf...

First day on the Gulf,  Davey and I jumped on the bikes and took in the incredible scenery.  It is so BEAUTIFUL along the gulf coast.  If I ever moved there I would trade in my car for a beach cruiser! I LOVE these trees!  They never lose their leaves. Oh yeah, the Gospel Singers of America live right on the Gulf.  I love that it says GSA on the mailbox. See the W….it stands for Wichert, that’s Davey and I’s future home We stopped to smell the roses…   One thing you’ll see along the Gulf are lots of steps to homes that once were.  The Gulf is still recovering from Katrina but the people are positive and rebuilding!  We had to ask why they leave the steps and we got all kinds of answers….some people believe its a reminder of what once was, some people think it is to
