When I was pulling out all the Christmas decorations my pumpkins kept sadly gawking at me. They knew their trip to the Great Pumpkin Patch in the Sky was quickly approaching! I mean, come on…. pumpkins aren’t winter décor… OR ARE THEY??
I wasn’t sure myself. So I went to the pros. I asked my pal over at Inspired By Design, LLC for some help. (She has some great ideas! So go give her a like on Facebook, I’ll wait.) … She kindly told me that YES pumpkins COULD be winteresque. She shared with me a photo of pumpkins spray painted white for a “frosted” look! Which gave me an idea!!
I had the perfect pumpkins to make Pumpkin Snowmen! I grabbed some white spray paint and went to town!
It took a few coats but one can of paint did the job. Stacking the pumpkins was the trickiest part. I used about a three year’s supply of hot-glue but if I were to do it again, I’d start with a dowel drilled down the middle.
Then I added some eyes and buttons (spray painted thumbtacks), sharpied on a nose and mouth and finished them off with a ribbon scarf. AND VIOLA, the most adorable Pumpkin Snowmen you’ve ever seen…..
WELL… whadya’ think?? These DIY pumpkins are pretty darn cute, right??
