Leave the cheese at home! | Photo Session Tips

The Secret Recipe for a GREAT Photography Session

The planning leading up to a session is what gives the best results. When you work with a true professional photographer on a collaboration the best of your family will shine through. Find a photographer with a portfolio that you love. Prepare well, have fun and then enjoy the process.

PHOTO SESSION TIP FIVE – Leave the cheese at home!  Unless, you’re also bringing crackers.

Asking a child to say cheese is a great way to get them to look right at that cell phone so you can capture the perfect moment however in a professional image we don’t usually need it.   Family images should reflect the true essence of your family not a bunch of forced smiles.  Trust your photographer to get your family to open up and know that their camera shoots  MUCH faster than a cell phone.  Most DSLR can capture 50 frames a second or more so we don’t need children to hold still which is what asking them to say cheese does.  Authentic laughs and smiles make the best images – even in formal portraits.

Let’s get out and create some fun portraits of your family.  Sure – if you want a cheese face I’m happy to capture it but I’d rather chase your kids around as they laugh and scream and capture their natural cheese, if ya know what I mean.  We try hard to provide a mixture of posed and candid images for your family to cherish.
