The day couldn’t have been more perfect!
The girls were in great moods. BOTH of them! I only had to raise my voice once while getting them ready. (That’s a huge win for me!) We weren’t rushing around. Monster put on her own shoes, without a fuss AND on the right feet! Aunt Tiff pulled up, right on time. We strapped the car seats in, popped Frozen into the DVD player and were on our way.
When we arrived the sky was bluer than blue. There was a soft summer’s breeze that carried the sweet scent of lavender. The purple fields were beautiful and even the llamas came to greet us. NO, seriously they charged the fence to see us 🙂 ! It was like they were trying to say “Welcome to Carousel Farm Lavender”.
Tiffany has wanted to shoot in a lavender field for a while now and when she asked if I’d be interested in having Bug’s first birthday shoot in one… I. WAS. STOKED!
You probably know by now that I like to have my girl’s birthday shoots themed to fit their birthdays.

Well, I’m not quite ready to give away Bug’s first birthday theme, invitations go out this week, but Carousel Farm Lavender was a great location for her photo shoot. You can try to guess the theme by the few images I’m sharing today but even if you figure it out I’m gonna’ play like you didn’t! 🙂
Sharing a sneak peek of birthday images isn’t something I’d normally do but I’m a rule breaker. So, here you go… a little First Birthday Shoot teaser. I will share the entire shoot with you later. Probably after Bug’s birthday party, but for now here are a few adorable images to hold you over….

This one pretty much sums up the day. Silly. Beautiful. Fun! 
Aunt Tiff brought wings to the shoot. Monster wore wings in her First Birthday Photo Shoot so we had her wear them for Bug’s first birthday too! She loved fluttering around the lavender field and was pretty much the loveliest butterfly there. 
Something special about this one. I now you can’t even see their adorable little faces but I adore it. It is one of the last images Tiff took and I’m so glad she caught this moment. It makes my heart smile.
Well, what do you think? Are you just dying to get to a lavender field? I had never been to one before but know I will be back. It was just beautiful. I know Tiff will absolutely be heading back next year for portraits! **HINT, HINT** 🙂
