This past weekend I was headed to Grandma’s house for a summer BBQ. Nothing out of the ordinary! We cookout quite a bit. So, I’ll give it to my Mother-in-law, grandmother and cousin Nicole (the amazing women behind my baby sprinkle) … it was a great cover up and got me to my surprise sprinkle without a hitch!
What a sweet surprise! Since this is my second baby I was not expecting any shower, or sprinkle for that matter. But it was a very nice gesture! For those of you who may not know what a baby sprinkle is, it’s just like a baby shower except you don’t “shower” the mother-to-be with gifts, you “sprinkle” her with them. Just treat her and baby to a few small items to celebrate and show some love. I must say, while it isn’t necessary, it sure was very special and a moment I will treasure!
Here’s little ole me (haha, little!) showing up for the “BBQ”!! …
We had scones, tea sandwiches, and petit fours… which before, I had no idea what they were but NOW I do… That’s French for “delicious” 🙂 !!
A few of my favorite gifts…A gift from my best gal pals… Eat, Drink and Be Beautiful. All gift certificates. One for a sandwich shop, since I’ve been craving an Italian hoagie for the past 8 months and they are a no-no when pregnant! One for a local bar, so I can go and enjoy a few drinks once baby comes, and one for the salon so I can go for a little makeover when I’m ready! All things to pamper “mommy”! I loved this gift!!!!
Some red wine, my favorite!
I loved this “reserved for Quinn” frame. SOOO thoughtful! I have the same one for Hadley that I update with each photo shoot we have with Aunt Tiff! I can’t wait to hang this on the wall with a photo from her newborn shoot!
Grammy stitched this blanket for the baby. Big Sister has one similar. Gifts like these are priceless and will be cherished forever!
The sprinkle wasn’t a huge gathering, just an intimate group of my closest family and girlfriends. It was absolutely PERFECT!!!! I’d like to thank all the special women who made my celebration as sweet as it was! You have no idea how much it meant to me. I love you all!
xx,
Heather
