One of my daily reads is Click it up a Notch.  She has a great feature on her blog called “What did you learn”  where you can post an image, send her a link and ask her readers to critique you.  So this post is really for that reason.  😉  Critique away…

In this session I learned to slow down.  I know that is so basic but when photographing kids it’s a hard balance to take the time and get the settings you want and to keep shooting and not miss anything.  I sometimes struggle with “can I fix this later” but I am really working towards getting things right in camera.

As soon as this adorable little girl hit the grown she started running.  I arrived at the location early set my setting for the light and thought I was good to go but I also made the challenge to myself that if I needed to stop and adjust I was going to do that.  The first images were a bit blurry because she was running.  Normally I would try to make some adjustments in camera as I’m shooting but this time I stopped and really thought about what I needed to change and I am so happy I did.
